• Tinnitus Awareness Week, West Midlands Area

    8-12 February, 2010

    As part of Tinnitus Awareness Week, the Birmingham & District Tinnitus Group are supporting various events throughout the West Midlands to raise awareness of tinnitus and to offer, help, support and advice to sufferers. Due to the nature of tinnitus, the best help is information, advice and support from people who have experience of tinnitus and its impact.

  • Life Skills Programme – starting very soon

    bid services are offering a Life Skills Programme for profoundly deaf people with additional learning needs.

  • A conference on ‘A Deaf Perspective’

    bid services are hosting a Palliative Care Conference on Thursday 11th March 2010 at the Deaf Cultural Centre, Ladywood Road, Birmingham. The conference, entitled ‘a deaf perspective’ is aimed at medical and care professionals and will provide invaluable information and advice to those who want to provide deaf patients with the dignity and respect they deserve during their end of life experience.

  • bid services hosted a children’s Party

    On the 12th of December 2009 bid services organised a Christmas party for 30 children living in the Ladywood area. The party was organised to support local children as Ladywood is one of the most deprived areas in the UK and a large number of children live in poverty.

 

 

  • Fundraising

    bid services, like all charities has a need to fundraise to enable it to continue supporting the Deaf community

    A number of people organize events throughout the year on behalf of bid services to raise vital funds. bid services is very grateful for everyone’s hard work in organizing these events.     bid services Interpreting Service provides reliable, effective and quality communication support to Deaf people and a range of professional organisations.

    All of our interpreting services are delivered by highly trained language service professionals who are sensitive and flexible to client and customer needs.

  • Supporting People Services

    Supporting People aims to help vulnerable people improve their quality of life by enabling them to live more independently.

    We provide a team with a wide range of BSL and communication skills to enable us to give support across the deaf and hearing impaired community.

    Housing related support focuses on enabling people to live as independently as possible in their accommodation.
